I vaguely remember learning this at Latin A-level, along with which
areas of Rome the sex workers from different nations hung out in.
Good old Juvenal.

Menelaus was meant to be a redhead, wasn't he? Helen was blonde, I
believe (I've heard rumours that she could have been albino). Trying
to remember what the physical types were like during that period.

Never really thought of Cain as a historical figure, to be honest.
But I suppose even if it was myth-making, it'll have been based on
life at the time, so that does argue for henna. When do they reckon
Genesis was compiled?

The book sounds fascinating. My uni library doesn't have it. I now
proceed to sulk. I could just about justify it if I tried, I
occasionally do some work on the Handmaid's Tale.

I could get it cheap from the US without too much trouble, apart from
the hassleof shipping it internationally. Tell me more about it, is
it definitely worth getting, what's it like?
