I'm working on a piece on hennaed hair and the sex workers in Pompeii for ya'll. In classical Greek ceramics, the sex workers are about the only ones to have red hair. Again ........ not all that likely they were born with it. There are some brilliant pieces on Jewish women and hair coverings and comparisons with others such as Afghani and Amish in "Religion, Dress and the Body", Berg Press. Helluva book.
