henna over highlighted hairPosted by valerie on August 22, 2004 at 17:15:28: Hello everyone :)I have been reading some of your posts and am very impressed. I am trying to grow my hair out, and its doing quite nicely (considering where I started from!) Anyway, I was highlighting my hair using regular hair bleach, but have since decided I do not want to be using harsh chemicals on my hair anymore. I hennaed the bottom two thirds of my hair which had some bleach in varying intensity but left the top part alone which is the most highlighted. I was scared of what I would end up with but the bottom two thirds turned out nice. I am wondering , do I dare risk the top part too? I know once I do, I am committed. But what i really want to know is if the henna turns out alright, will it be beneficial to my hair over the bleach or do it more damage? I hate the way the bleach tends to make my hair oily. Also it has been about 3 months since I used any chemicals on my hair. I would appreciate any input you could give me on this subject. I do want to switch to the henna for the health and beauty of my hair. I dont want to end up with thinning over-processed hair after a time. Any suggestions and information would be much appreciated. Thank you. I am really enjoying your posts you all sound very health concious. valerie
