Joining the ranks...Posted by Diane on April 12, 2004 at 17:09:00: Of the henna'ed who's who! Finally had my first go at my entire head on Saturday! It was so easy to do, although the result was mildly traumatic. After trying no less than half a dozen harvest tests and even doing 2 strands on my head, the actual result all-over was a bit of a shock! WOW! How red can you get?! lol. I'm a fiery flaming orangey deep deep intense rust colour! The orange tones are settling down a little bit, but even though I knew day one was not the true colour, I have to say it was a bit unnerving! Getting used to it though. Makes my natural colour, which I thought was rather coppery to begin with, seem almost insipid now! What I have realised though was that my "red" hair was made up of about 25% bright coppery strands, 50% auburny-browny-reddish strands and surprisingly about 25% light goldeny blond strands. So the light blond strands are now orangey gold; the coppery colour is now aflame, and the browny colour a deep burnished rust. The overall effect is unbelievably red! Yikes! Anyway, my few greys are ALL GONE... Couple of questions: Does anyone find that repeated applications cause the colour to even-out all over, as I would hate to end up with a flat single colour? Also, anybody experienced with henna-ing red hair know whether the orangey tones ever completely go away with subsequent applications? I don't see a lot of difference with the hairbrush tests that I repeated on OR the ones that I left in for hours and hours ( I got all this colour in just 1 hour!) Will get a pic to Catherine asap, I'm enjoying all the new pics in the mixes...
