: hi again. more than likely, the chemically dyed parts will come
out
: a little differently, with mine - the dyed parts came out very red
: (before I started adding indigo) and the natural roots (med. brown)
: came out less red, more brown-red. once I added indigo+henna, it
: came out more even, but I had about 3 times of henna only build up
: prior to that. (does that make sense)?
:
: anyway, the consensus is that the more you henna the more you get a
: natural build up of color and the more likely it is that it will
: match - also, as your hair becomes more conditioned AND IT WILL
with
: the henna applications, it will become more even I think. However,
: you may have to just live with a slight difference, I have not
: noticed to be that unnatural and I've read that others don't notice
: the color difference in their roots/dyed parts with enough concern
to
: warrant not making the change.
:
: I have done some research on all natural cosmetics etc. a good book
: to read is called "Drop Dead Gorgeous...protecting yourself from
the
: hidden dangers of cosmetics" by Kim Erickson. it's chock full of
: great ideas for all natural alternatives you can either make
yourself
: or a list of companies that can be trusted if you wish to buy from
: the store (most of which have to be bought at your local organics
: store, like trader joes or somewher. two of the companies I can
: vouch for personally are burts bees products and aubrey organics (I
: absolutely LOVE their shampoos!!)
:
: I also was dyeing my hair since about 18 and am 30 now - to be
: hopeful it only took 2 or 3 hennas to magically repair that much
: abuse...I actually haven't had to use a conditioner on my hair for
: awhile now and that has NEVER been an option until I started to
: henna....hoo ya

Hi I kind of have the same problem with the different colors on the
processed hair, only I hennaed over bleached hair with almost 2
inches of dark roots, now I have orangy red hair (but I like the
color) with 2" of dark roots. I wondered if I could mix the indigo
and henna to help even out the color, or will the indigo make my
bleacned hair greenish? I would apreciate any input.
Thanks, Valerie
